Sociedad Iberoamericana de Neonatolgía
SIBEN is a non-profit, public charity foundation registered in the United States [501 (c) (3)], under U.S. federal tax and legal regulations. Society formed by pediatricians - neonatologists, nurses and other newborn health professionals. The main objective of SIBEN is to help improve the quality of life of newborns and their families in the Ibero-American population. SIBEN's motto is to become good, to do good, with education and service to achieve a benefit for others.
There is a large gap between the knowledge and care that many newborns and their families receive within the Ibero-American region, where indicators of neonatal health and survival are extremely variable between countries and between regions within the same country. SIBEN does not pretend to do or be more of the same and wants all Latin American newborns to receive what they need. With the philosophy of facilitating, promoting and implementing actions to benefit infants and their families, in 12 years of existence SIBEN has contributed to improving education and reducing the gap and variability that exists within the different regions of Ibero-America.
