Red Iberoamericana de Estudios Internacionales
The Ibero-american Net of International Studies (RIBEI, in Spanish), is an association created in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on November 18th, 2010, which connects a group of think-tanks, university research institutes, International Relations Councils, among other specialised studies centres, this group pays special attention on the Latin American reality.
The initiative, which emerged in the context of the Bicentenary Independence Commemoration in Latin America, has a permanent vocation and constitutes a stake in the analysis of the present and future relations between Latin America and the rest of the world, with a prospective approach.
One of the RIBEI activities is the annual celebration of the General Assembly (private) and an International Conference (public) that brings together important personalities and experts on international relation to discuss on the current interest and importance themes of Latin America: - I Conference, on November 19th, 2010, Buenos Aires, was held under the theme: "Economic Crisis and new international governance"; - II Conference on November 8th, 2011, Quito, discussed the: "Global Crisis and rebalance of power: challenges and opportunities for Latin America"; - III Conference, on November 22nd and 23rd, 2012, took place at the headquarters of El Colegio de México under the theme "Foreign Policy, regional integration and infrastructure" focusing on the security policies, infrastructures, Asia Pacific, the G-20 or the foreign policies of Brazil and Mexico. - IV Conference on May 8th and 9th, 2014 (scheduled for November 2013 was postpone for reason related to the organisation of the meeting) was held at the Institute of Relacões Internacionais of the Universidade de Sao Paulo (IRI-USP), under the theme "New trends of political cooperation and commercial and its regional impact". - V Conference has been carried out on December 1st and 2nd, 2015 in the Dominican Republic, by FUNDGLODE offer, under the theme "The new changes on the international agenda and its regional impact". - VI Conference is going to be held in Colombia before the 25th Ibero-American Heads of State and Government Summit to be held in that country in November 2016.
